![]() ![]() I can fully understand why people still like Apple IOS (for its function/simplicity) but their hardware is technically far behind Samsung now IMO (for the price) especially now Samsung as caught up with style/design/quality. ![]() Would be perfect if they had kept replaceable/larger battery and microSD expansion. It is even noticeably faster than the Note 4. ![]() Sounds more alive.Īs for the S6 itself, from design/quality screen size/weight speed/OS, its the best phone experience I've had to date. To the vast majority you would be happy with the headphone output of any of these phones with decent earphones/IEM's (I can't comment on full headphones as don't use any).įrom what I've read the Samsung S6 may be affected by the audio customisation options but not touched those yet.Īt the moment the Note 4 seems to be that bit clearer, more expansive with greater clarity between bass/mid/treble. I've read vast amounts of info on head-fi about the high regard for Wolfson DAC and many saying Qualcomm integrated is crap, but that's not the case with to ears. This is always very subjective but my top source (to my surprise) is still the Note 4 (snapdragon) followed by the Samsung S6 then the iPhone 6. None have any background hiss even with the sensitive Shure's. With the 50 ohm Klipsch x10i, you do need to go high with the Samsung phones but still not on max. I find all three great music sources for IEMs and with the low impedance 9 ohm Shure SE846 all phones can easily drive to high volumes without having to go into the red warning zone. ![]() To summarise (All UK spec phones with EU limiting, Note 4 & S6 on Android Lollipop and listening to Spotify Extreme): Not changed any setting leaving S6 as factory delivered apart from downloading Spotify and not prompted to enter any audio customisation options. IEMS used are my mid range Klipsch X10i and high-end Shure SE846. I must make clear I'm no "golden ear" audiophile and consider myself aware of detecting differences in audio clarity/quality knowing my bass/mids/treble not in the multiple ways people on head-fi can describe music quality. Ok, spent first hour with the S6 mostly playing music comparing to iPhone 6 & Note 4, with my 6 test tracks covering classical/jazz/acoustic guitar/dance type beat tracks. I#m thrilled today checking at home the S6 with some high resolution audio. When considering that the noise level and dynamic range are pretty much on the same level on the M8,S6 & iphone6-the only limiting factor is the stereo crosstalk. the S6 does is much better in this area. -83.4 and i think i'm hearing it.wider stereo sound stage. the iPhone stays with headphone attached over the models from 4-6 pretty much the same S4 sounds better than the S5.but the S6 sounds much better.įrom what i hear i find it pretty much mirroring what gsmarena measured with RMAA on each phone. Boom Sound activated i'm hearing a lot artifacts and the noise level pumps up. The leaders are without doubt when attached an inear the S6 followed by apple's iphone 6, The S6 shines when listening to high resolution audio.this is a big step up! Listening and comparing was on a very subjective side, because every smartphone had different songs stored.nevertheless i find: Yesterday i had the chance in a local store to compare the HTC M8, Apple Iphone 6, Sony Z3, Galaxy S4,S5 and S6 with my Phonak Audeo PFE 112 in ears. ![]()
